Level 2

 

The second, “Sensing and Control” level contains the hardware equipment and meter components which measure water delivery and distribution parameters such as flow, pressure, vibration, energy usage and water quality.

 

This level also includes remote-controlled devices such as pressure-reducing valves (PRV), and automatic meter reading (AMR) and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) devices. In essence, the sensing and control level represents the interface between the physical infrastructure and the “smart” levels.
